إن الدين عند الله الإسلام، وأس هذا الدين وأساسه وأصله المتين هو أركان الإيمان، من تمسك بها هدي إلى صراط مستقيم، ومن أنكر شيئا منها ضل ضلالاً بعيداً، وخسر خسراناً مبيناً.
وقد تناول المؤلف في هذه الرسالة أركان الإيمان بشيء من التفصيل، مع الإستدلال عليها من كتاب الله تعالى وسنة نبيه (صلى الله عليه وسلم).
ثم أردف ذلك بنماذج من كتب العقيدة، مما ألفه علماء المسلمين في القرن الرابع الهجري، حيث استقر علم العقيدة جليا واضحا بعد ظهور الفرق الكلامية المختلفة.
وقد أراد من خلال سوق هذه الرسائل العقدية أن أؤكد وحدة الأمة في عقيدتها، رغم اختلاف الأزمنة والأمكنة والمذاهب الفكرية والفقهية.
