إن دراسة الحياة البرزخية أو الأمور الغيبية من الأمور التي تشوق النفوس إلى معرفته، بل ومعرفة تفاصيله، إلى جانب ذلك فإن استذكار هذا الموضوع هو باب لترقيق القلوب، وتشويق النفوس لما أعدّه سبحانه وتعالى للطائعين في هذه الحياة البرزخية، وتحذير لمن فرّط وقصّر، إضافة إلى أن موضوع الحياة البرزخية، وما فيها من النعيم والجحيم والأهوال والشدائد هو جدير بأن يدرس وتكتب فيه البحوث والرسائل وذلك لما ينتظر البشرية قاطبة بعد الممات، فحريّ بالإنسان الفطن أن يكون متأهباً مستعداً لتلك الحياة.
وقد تناثرت المسائل المتعلقة بالحياة البرزخية في بطون الكتب، ومن خلال هذا الكتاب الذي هو رسالة قدمت لنيل درجة الماجيستير في العقيدة، جمع تلك المسائل، ليخرج بتصور كامل في جميع النواحي عن تلك الحياة البرزخية. وقد تمّ ترتيب ذلك ضمن أبواب تسعة شملت فصولاً ومباحث. وهذه لمحة عن المحاور التي دار حولها البحث في أبواب الكتاب. بعد التمهيد الذي تمّ فيه ذكر تصور البرزخ في الديانات، دار الباب الأول حول عقيدة أهل السنة والجماعة في الحياة البرزخية وخصص الباب الثاني للأحكام التي تتعلق بالميت وتمّ الحديث في الأبواب الثالث والرابع والخامس والسادس عن البدع التي تكون عند القبور وعن حال الأجساد في القبور وعن مستقر الأرواح في الحياة البرزخية وعن نعيم القبر وعذابه. وتم تخصيص كل من البابين الثامن والتاسع للحديث عن سماع الأموات للأحياء وسماع ورؤية الأحياء للأموات، وعن تزاور الأموات في قبورهم ومعرفتهم بمن زارهم. ويمكن القول بأن طرح هذا الموضوع والكتابة فيه، وخاصة في هذا الزمان الذي طغت فيه الحضارة المادية، ونسي كثير من الناس أو تناسوا ما ينتظرهم بعد الموت، قد يسهم في كبح جماح تلك النفوس، ومن ثمّ النظر والتأمل في حقيقة هذه الحياة، والاستعداد لتلك المنازل، والتزود بصالح الأعمال.
