سوف نقرأ ما بين دفتي هذا الكتاب، صفحات مجهولة من أيام المنفى الباريسي لفئة من السياسيين الذين أرغم بعضهم على الهجرة أو النفي، فاختاروا الإبتعاد عن نيران الأحداث، ولكن بقي لهم دوراً فاعلاً ومؤثّراً في مسيرة الآلام التي عصفت بوطنهم الأم – لبنان – ما بين عامي (1976-2007) ، يخطها لنا الأستاذ شكري نصر الله بكل موضوعية، وأمانة، وباحترافية عالية بحكم موقعه الهام في تلك السنوات التي كان يشغل فيها منصب مدير تحرير مجلة "المستقبل" الباريسية، عروس المجلات العربية على مر الزمان، يقول "نصر الله": ".. وكان هذا المنصب بالذات، يتيح لي أن أكون قريباً من هؤلاء الزعماء والقادة. وكنت أدوّن في أوراقي نتفاً من أحداث تلك الحقبة التاريخية، ومعلوماتها، وأسرارها، وأحتفظ بها لنفسي ...".
وهكذا استطاع "نصر الله" بتميّز منقطع النظير أن يخترق الجدران الحديدية المحيطة بعدد من هؤلاء الزعماء والقادة السياسيين، فكسب ثقتهم، فأسندوا إليه مهمات، أو أسروا إليه ببعض أسرارهم، أو مكنوناتهم، فكتب حينها كتاب سماه (مذكرات قبل أوانها). أما في هذا الكتاب والذي حمل عنوان (السنوات الطيبة) فيؤرخ فيه كاتبنا لمذكرات ومقابلات أجراها وأسرار وأحداث لقادة كانوا هم صنّاع الحجث، ولا يزالون في الحياة السياسية لبلدهم فأثروا وتأثروا بها، ومن هؤلاء الزعماء الذين يتناولهم "نصر الله" في (السنوات الطيبة): الرئيس أمين الجميل، والرئيس العماد ميشال عون، والرئيس رفيق الحريري، والبطريرك نصر الله صفير، والسفير جوني عبده وغيرهم ....
إن هذا الكتاب ليس تأريخاً لأحداث، بقدر ما هو قراءة موضوعية لها، في أسبابها، في نتائجها، في تداعياتها، وفي مواقف مختلف الأطراف منها بالإستناد إلى أهم ما جاء فيها من وقائع.
