تتقاطع سيرة الراوي مع تاريخ أهل بيت النبوة عليهم السلام في رواية "حسيني أنا ولن أضيع دَم الرضيع"، لتعكس تأثير اللحظة التاريخية في الأفراد، فإذا بالروائي "عبد الله عبد الله" يرسم لبطله هاشم والشخصيات الأخرى في العمل الطريق الذي رسمه الحسين عليه السلام، حتى لا يضيعوا ما بذله الحسين عليه السلام من أجلهم "نعم فلنسير وفق ما رسمه الحسين عليه السلام لنا كي لا نضيع دم الرضيع".
والرواية بشكل عام تعمل على إعادة تشكيل الحدث الكربلائي من جديد من خلال صورة الذبح للشاة التي قام بها هاشم أثناء ذهابه برحلة وعائلته وأصدقاؤه في أحد أيام الربيع؛ ولكنه لا يستطيع أن يكمل الذبح ويضع السكين جانباً، ويبدأ بالإنتحاب والبكاء، مستذكراً واقعة (الطف)، وقد تراءى أمامه "نحر الحسين عليه السلام وهو يُذبح في كربلاء".
وبهذا يكون القارئ أمام موقف خاص بالشهادة يأسسه الروائي من خلال الصراع بين الحدث الواقعي المرجعي وحدث القصة التي يرويها ليحيل بذلك المتلقي على المستوى التعبيري الذي يجد فيه الحدث الواقعي المتمثل بإستشهاد الحسين عليه السلام ورفضه له.
على وفق هذا الخطاب (الموت / الشهادة) المتمثل بحدث (كربلاء) تؤسس الرواية موضوعها، لتكون شهادة الحسين عليه السلام منطلقاً للتغيير والولادة الجديدة للوطن وإستمرار حب أهل بيت النبوة عليهم السلام.
يقول الروائي في ثنايا العمل: "إن موضوع الحسين عليه السلام ليس موضوعاً فرعياً أو هامشياً، إنه موضوع جوهري في الحياة، بل وفي الكون كله، إذ أن قصة الحسين عليه السلام كانت مرتبطة بخالق الكون قبل أن تحدث، وقد أخبر عنها الرسل والأنبياء وأحيطت بعناية بالغة من قبل الله جلّ وعلا، وبما ان حياتنا كلها يجب أن تكون لله سبحانه وتعالى كما حكى الله عزّ وجلّ عن إبراهيم عليه السلام في القرآن الكريم...".
