يتضمن هذا الكتاب الشرح الحادي عشر على "الحكم العطائية في الآداب والحقائق التصوفية" للشيخ الإمام: تاج الدين أحمد بن عطاء الله السكندري" وهو موافق للعقائد السنية ويحتوي على جملة من قواعد تزكية النفس الإنسانية، وأرقى آداب العبادة القلبية التي ترد النفوس إلى حال الكمال عن طريق العبادات.
وهذا الإهتمام الخاص من الشيخ "زروق" بكتاب "الحكم العطائية" ينبع من إيمانه الراسخ بضرورة العناية بركن "الإحسان" الذي يعتبر دعامة أساسية من دعائم الدين الإسلامي. لذلك جاء اهتمام أئمة ومبادئ ومباحث خاصة، وبعضهم يسميه بعلم التصوف "السني"، والبعض يسميه بعلم الحقيقة، إلى غير ذلك من الأسماء، وكلٌ يشير إلى مسمى واحد وهو العلم المصلح للقلوب التي لا تصلح الأعمال والطاعات إلا بها. آخذاً من قول النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: "ألا وإن في الجسد مضغة إذا صلحت صلح الجسد كله، وإذا فسدت فسد الجسد كله، ألا وهي القلب".
يتوزع هذا الكتاب على خمسة وعشرون باباً نذكر منها: في جزاء العمل، في أحكام البلايا والعلل، في الأوراد، في المقاصد والمراد، في أحكام العلل في الأعمال، في المدح والذم على الأحوال، في أسباب التنصل من الذنوب، في أحكام الإلتباس، في الحقائق والأسرار.
