في القرن التاسع عشر للميلاد شاع بين الفلاسفة نظرة مادية محضة في تفسير ظواهر إنسانية أو كونية. وقد ارتكزت هذه النظرة على "فيزياء نيوتن"-الفيزياء الكلاسيكية-ونظرية "دالتون" عن "الذرة" ثم "نظرية داروين" عن أصل الإنسان. وقد بدى للمراقب وكأن العلم وما يقدمه من اكتشافات مجرد وسيلة إثبات لمنظور مادي قديم.
بيد أن تطور العلم-بنية ومفاهيم ونظريات-في القرن العشرين أدى ‘لى حصار المنظور المادي وبالتالي وأد الأسس التي يرتكز عليها.
لم يعد هناك قسيمة أولية للمادة كما يزعم الفكر المادي فالعلم الحديث يقول هناك "إلكترون" له جوهر غريب لا يمكن قياسه ونواة للذرة تنحل في النهاية إلى "كوارك" وهو مفهوم نظري غير محسوس وغير مرئي ومن كل زوج خلق الخالق سبحانه اثنين فهناك المادة ومضادات المادة. وإذا أحلت الجزيء الأولى إلى "إلكترون" فأنت تتحدث عن "كهيرب" أو "كهرباء" وإن أحلته إلى مفهوم مجرد "الكوارك" فأنت تتحدث "ميتافيزيقيا".
هذا الكتاب يشرح كيف تحولت المفاهيم نتيجة للاكتشافات العلمية وخصوصاً في مجال الفيزياء النووية، وفيزياء الفلك، لتفرز في التحليل النهائي منظور يرسخ الإيمان بالله والتسليم بوجود الخالق سبحانه وتعالى.
