الوحدة الإسلامية بصورة عامة، وبين كافة المذاهب الإسلامية يتمناها المسلمون جميعاً، ويسعون جاهدين لتحقيقها، إيماناً منهم أن في التماسك القوة والعزّة والمنعة. لكن الطريق إليها صعب عسير، وليس بالأمر السهل اليسير، ولن يكون هذا بالمجاملات والشعارات والخطابات التي تدعو إلى التآلف، إنما وحدة نفوس المسلمين وتآلف قلوبهم ومحبتهم لبعضهم البعض لا يتم ذلك كله إلا بأن يبدي كل طرف وجهة نظره، ورأيه واتجاه فكره، لكي يستطيع الطرف الآخر النظر فيها والتحقيق بمعانيها، وتبيان صحيحها من مفاسدها، وحينئذ تنجلي الأمور وتتطابق الآراء وتتفق الاتجاهات.
من هذا المنطلق يأتي هذا الكتاب الذي يحاول المؤلف من خلاله إيضاح (التشيع)، وإجمال عقائد الشيعة، وعلى القارئ أن يضعها من الإسلام وانتشار مذاهبه حيث يشاء الحق. وعلى هذا كان على المؤلف بيان معنى شيعة وعقائد الشيعة، والمكان الذي ينبت فيه التشيع ليتضح أمام القارئ ما ينطوي عليه المذهب الشيعي واجتهاداته التي كاجتهادات سائر المذاهب.
