أدَّى (ربيعة بن كعب) صلاة الفجر، وجلسَ حيثُ صلَّى يفكِّرُ في يومِهِ وأمسِهِ... ما أعظمَ البَوْنَ بين ما كان عليه في أمسه وبين ما هو عليه في يومه هذا!!... كان مُشرِكاً بالله تعالى، جاهلاً بعظمته وصفاتِهِ الحُسْنى، بعيداً عن دينه الحق؛ وهو اليوم مؤمنٌ بالله لا يشركُ به شيئاً، يعظِّمُ الله تعالى، ويَدين بدينه الذي بَعَثَ به خاتَمَ رسلِه.
كان بالأمس يعبد حجارةً لا ترى ولا تسمع، ولا تضرُّ ولا تنفع؛ وهو الآن يتوجَّه إلى السميع البصير، العليم الخبير، الذي بيده مقاليد كلِّ شيء، وهو على كل شيء قدير.
كان الفرح يملأُ قلبَه، ويسري في سائرِ جسدِه، كان وجهه يُبْرقُ سروراً وطرباً، وكانت السعادة تغمره وتغمر الوجودَ من حوله، أصبح يرى كل شيء جميلاً رائعاً، إنه ينظر إلى السماء ونجومها التي تتلألأ، فيرى أنَّ جمالها قد ازداد، وينظر إلى البادية الممتدة في كل ناحيةٍ من حوله، فيرى أنها قد لبست ثوبَ حُسْن، ويسمَّع إلى أصوات الدِّيَكَة والمواشي، فيُحِسُّ أنَّ لهذه الأصوات وقعاً جميلاً على أُذُنَيْه ما كان يُحِسُّ به من قبل!!...
