أخاف أن يظل وطني ينتحب في صدري إلى ما لا نهاية، وأن نتعود على "تدجينهم" للبقية الباقية في الضمير.
"وطني يرمى كاللقطاء في أعتم زاوية الدرب، يتسول حضناً يحميه وحناناً يطفح في القلب، وطني يرجم، يشنق، يسبى أمسى رقماً في منطقهم، صار حصاداً لمعاركهم يترنح تحت مطارقهم، قد فرقه قصر النظر وأنانية مسؤولينا، في سوق النخاسة يشرى ويباع ويشبع تدجينا، هذي بلادي قد صلبوها وأباحوها وأذلوها، سحقوا بخور كرامتها ذبحوا أعصاب تجليها، ويضيع شباب منكفئ في بحر مساومة مر، يتمزق يبحث عن درب في أوسع غابات القهر، ويعوم على وجه الدنيا يتسول للذات مكانا، نجتث أصالتنا جهراً ونبادل بالزيف حناناً".
