داخل هذا المنعطف التاريخي تقبع شخصيات الرواية مع تحكم الروائي في مسار أبطال الرواية متخذاً من شخصياتهم مساراً لما كان يحدث في تلك الحقبة من الزمن وكيف ضحى على سبيل المثال "حجاب" بنفسه يكشف خطورة الإرهاب على بلده ونجح في كشف مخطط إرهابي يترصد البلاد، وبهذا يكون عبد الرحمن الهايل قد جمع في عمل روائي واحد حب الوطن والإنسان متجولاً عبر تاريخ الكويت الحديث.
