يتناول هذا الكتاب سيرة شهيد من شهداء فلسطين الكثر وهي قصة أن دلت على شيء فعلى مقدار تعلق الفلسطيني بتراب وطنه، لا فرق في ذلك بين مدني وقروي، جاهل ومتعلم.
وهي قصة أحد الشهداء المثقفين الذين آثرو أن يحملوا البندقية في وجه المستعمر الإنكليزي الغاشم على حمل القلم، ومجابهتهم بالرصاص دون مجابهتهم بالكلمة، ذلك أن المستعمر الذي اغتصب البلاد بالقوة لا يفهم غير لغة القوة.
وإذا كان الكتاب يدور حول قصة رجل بعينه فإنه يكاد يكون قصة كل شهيد قضى في سبيل إنقاذ فلسطين أو استردادها، والعبر في هذه القصة كثيرة والعاقل الشجاع من يعتبر.
