لفتَ المكون السردي في الشعر العربي القديم إهتمام غير واحد من الدارسين في مطلع القرن العشرين، لما يطرحه من إشكالات معرفية وأجناسية ومفاهيمية ومنهجية الكبرى، غير أن النظر في ما أنجز من دراسات وأبحاث في الموضوع، يكشف عن الحاجة الماسة إلى مزيد من الدراسات تعمّق أبعاده وتُلَمْلِم أطرافه، ذلك أن السرد إطار مرجعي ومنهجي في الآن نفسه، يمنح مفاتيح متنوعة لولوج عوالم القصيدة، ومقاربة أبعادها الفنية ومكوناتها الجمالية.
لذا، اتخذناه مدخلاً لإعادة طرح العديد من القضايا الفكرية والرؤى النقدية، التي تتناقلها كتب الأدب ونقده قديماً وحديثاً؛ مثل مفهوم الأدب ووظيفته، وأنسّاقه الثقافية، وتداخل الأشكال الأدبية، وتقاسم أدواتها الإجرائية، علاوة على مظاهر الإتساق والإنسجام في النص الشعري.
ثم إن المكون السردي يعتبر فرصةً لمناقشة الحكم النقدي الذي يعد الموروث الشعري غنائياً ذاتياً، يبثّ فيه الشاعر أحاسيسه، ولواعج قلبه بثّاً، والحال أن هذا الموروث يتوسل - في ظننا - بالعديد من الأصوات، والرؤى، والأزمنة، والأمكنة، والعلاقات، والمواقف عند بلورته تصوراً معيناً، أو عند دحضه إياه، على غرار ما نلمسه في فن القصة القصيرة.
ومن هنا، جاز الحديث عن "سرديَّة الشعر" بموازاة مع "شعريَّة السرد"، ومن شأن هذا المكون أيضاً أن يساعدنا على إستعادة مراجع الخطاب الشعري وسياقاته التداولية، بدلاً من إجتزاء التجربة الشعرية، وتلقِّيها بمعزل عن حيثياتها وملابساتها التاريخية.
