"هجرة الأدباء الشوام إلى مصر" في القرنين التاسع عشر والعشرين، كتاب يحفل بالحكايات والذكريات والأسرار عن هجرة أدباء بلاد الشام إلى مصر، الذين هاجروا لأجل الحرية فصنعوا النهضة، يحدثنا عنهم (وديع فلسطين) الناقد والمؤرخ الأدبي – وأحد الشهود الكبار على تلك الحقبة النهضوية الأثيرة، عن كل هؤلاء يكتب وديع فلسطين المصري الجنسية المتهم بأنه شامي فيقول: "أنا متهم بأنني شامي، وهي تهمة لا أدفعها وشرف لا أدعيه"، "أنا صعيدي وفرعوني وجدَي الأكبر رمسيس الثاني".
في الكتاب صفحات تروى عن أدباء وإعلاميين عاصرهم المؤلف، سنعرف من خلالها عن مرض (خليل مطران) في سنوات عمره الأخيرة "ولي كبد مقروحة من يبعني بها ركبداً ليست بذات قروح"، وحكاية عن الأديبة (مي زيادة) قد رثاها العقاد بقصيدة متفجرة بالحزن كرَر فيها عبارة : "كل هذا في التراب، آه من هذا التراب!" أما المطرب اللبناني (عمر الزعني) فرأيه في بلده مختلفاً حينما نظم مقطوعة غناها وفيها "يا كيكي كيكي، تعالي لما احكيكي، لا ينفع فيك خبير بلجيكي ولا بروفسير أمركي!". وغير ذلك من حياة حافلة عاشها المؤلف وعمل فيها في الصحافة وكتب في الأهرام والمقطم ومجلة الأداب والرسالة والغربال ورسالة التربية ومجلة الأديب، وكواليس هذه المهنة ومتاعبها، وأجمل ما فيها الأصدقاء الذين لم ينساهم وديع فلسطين فكان هذا الكتاب.
وعودً على بدء يشير الناشر (دار نلسن): أن هذا الكتاب هو في الأصل محاضرة ألقاها المؤلف في (دار الندوة) في بيروت في العام 2011 وبدعوة من دار نلسن للنشر ومؤسسة سعادة الثقافية، قدم لها الأستاذ سليمان بختي والأديبة سلمى مرشاق سليم.
