كِتابٌ شِعْرِيٌّ قَصَصِيٌّ مَعْرِفيٌّ عِرْفانيٌّ دِينيٌّ أخلاقِيٌّ سُلوكِيٌ شامِلٌ كبيرٌ، يَقَعُ في سِتَةِ مُجَلِّداتٍ، يَضُمُّ ما يَقْرُبُ مِنْ ثلاثينَ ألفَ بيتِ مِنَ الشْعُر، وهُوَ شامخٌ كالطَّوْدِ المُنيف، تَفيضُ مِنْ كُلِّ جانب مِنْ جوانِبِهِ ينابيعُ الحِكُمة، وكُلُّ بَيْتِ مِنُهُ مَبْعَثُ إعْجَابِ، وفي كُلّ بيتِ مِنْهُ إبداعٌ، وقد حَظِيَ بإهتمام الشُّعَراءِ والعُرَفاءِ والفُصَحاء والبُلَغَاء، ونَالَ إعْجابَ العْظَماء.
ومن هنا، تأتي هذه التَرْجَمَةُ المُتَّسمَةُ بالصِّفاء وبالنَّقاء، لإثَرٍ بلا نظير، هذا كتاب المثنوي، وهو أصولُ اصولِ أصولِ الدِّين، في كَشْفِ أسرارِ الوصول واليقين، مثلُ نوره كمِشْكاةٍ فيها مِصْباح، يُشْرِقُ إشراقاً أنوَرَ مِنَ الإصباح، وهُوَ جِنانُ الجَنانِ، ذو العُيونِ والأغصانِ، مِنْها عَينٌ تُسَمَّى عِنْدَ أبناءِ هذا السَّبيلِ سَلْسَبيلاً، وعِنْدَ أصحابِ المقاماتِ والكراماتِ خَيْرٌ مَقاماً وأحْسَنُ مقيلاً: الأبرارُ فيه يأكلونَ ويَشربون، والأحرارُ مِنْهُ يَفرحونَ ويَطربون، وهُوَ كَنيلِ مِصْرَ شرابٌ للصَّابرين، واقتَصَرُنا على هذا القليل، والقَليلُ يَدُلُّ على الكثير، والجُرْعَةُ تَدُلُّ على الغَدير، والحَفْنَةُ تَدُلُّ على البَيْدَرِ الكبير.
