كتاب "التاريخ والمؤرخون الكُرد" يسلط الضوء على أبرز التطورات التاريخية التي شهدها النتاج التاريخي الحديث والمعاصر للمصنفين الكُرد، من خلال قيام الباحث بعرضٍ لأبرز التطورات الفكرية التي صاحبت نتاجهم.
والحقيقة إن "كُردستان" لم تتعمق فيها مسيرة التطورات الحضارية والتاريخية لأنها خضعت عبر تاريخها للهيمنة والغزو والإحتلال الأجنبي على الرغم من إمتلاكها أصالة المقومات المادية والمعنوية من لغةٍ وعرقٍ وثقافة، فضلاً عن ذلك فإن توجهات العقيدة الإسلامية في كردستان لها خصوصيتها التي تميزها لأنها تمتلك خزيناً عقائدياً وثقافياً حفظ لكردستان هُويتها الدينية والعقائدية.
وعلى الرغم من ذلك كله استمرت كردستان تعيش حالة من السبات حيث التخبط والجهل وفوضى الصراعات القبلية، ويبدو أن القوى التي احتلت كردستان من أتراك وفرس سعت لتعميق هذه الخلافات، بل إنها في أحيان كثيرة كانت تستعين بقبائل موالية لها على كبح جماح قبائل انتفضت على ظلمٍ أصابها أو إضطهادٍ تعرضت له، وما أكثره! حيث تعرض الكُرد في عموم كردستان إلى جور الضرائب الباهظة التي تفرض عليهم وسِيق أبناؤهم إلى مصير مجهول في (جهادية) لا يملك فيها الكُرد ناقة ولا جملاً ولا يحققون من خلالها مكسباً أو هدفاً.
