اشتملت هذه الدراسة التي بين أيدينا والتي تتحدث عن سيرة الداعية المجدد "مصطفى السباعي" على مدخل تاريخي صور باختصار الوضع السياسي والحالة الثقافية في سورية من العقود الأولى من القرن العشرين، وأشار إلى مدى مشاركة السباعي في الحياة العامة في العقد الرابع. إلى جانب هذا اشتملت الدراسة على أقسام تسلسلت عناوينها على النحو التالي: "البلد والنشأة ومدرسة الفتح، السباعى في مصر، الداعية والدعوة، المجاهد، الصحفي، والسياسي والبرلماني، تحديات وأخطاء، العالم والمؤلف، الكاتب والأديب، الرجل والإنسان، وأخيراً: الرحيل".
وقد جاء هذا التبويب أو التقسيم تاريخياً وموضوعياً في الوقت نفسه لأن كل مرحلة من مراحل حياة السباعي كان لها عنوان بارز أو غلب عليها جانب معين من جوانب حياته لون خاص من ألوان نشاطه، وربما لم يخرج عن ذلك إلا بعض المراحل الثانوية، مثل الحديث عن خروجه إلى لبنان ونشاطه فيه، فقد جاء في سياق الحديث عن التحديات التي واجهته، والأخطاء التي وقعت في تاريخه وتاريخ الدعوة الإسلامية في سورية أيام قيادته لها.. وقد ساعد على ذلك أن خروجه إلى لبنان كان في غمرة هذه التحديات والعقبات، أو في سياق هذه المرحلة.
