التاريخية نزعة يرى أصحابها نسبية القوانين الإجتماعية والحكم بوضعيتها وتعرف بأنها مذهب يقرر نسبية القوانين الإجتماعية وإتصافها بالزمكانية، وأن القوانين من نتاج العقل الجمعي، وتسحب ذلك على الأديان أيضاً.
فالتاريخية إذاً إتجاه يحكم بعدم شمولية القوانين المختلفة وحتى الأحكام الشرعية، فترتب على ذلك القول بتاريخية النص الديني، أي أنه نسبي فيما تضمن من أحكام، ونسبي فيما أرسى من تصورات ومسائل عقدية، ونسبي فيما حث عليه من آداب وأخلاق، وبالتالي فهو صالح لبيئته الإجتماعية لا غير.
ونتج عن ذلك النداء بالعلمانية في مجال السياسة والحكم كأهم رؤية قريبة تشكلت عن مقدمات سبقت، فحدث شرخ كبير في الفكر الإسلامي، ساعد الخطاب الحداثي وبعض القراءات التراثية في إتساعه إلى حد بعيد، إلى درجة الإنفصال عن النص الديني، ورفضه كمرجعية أساسية لمختلف إنشغالات الحياة المسلمة.
لهذه الأسباب أرى أن هذا الموضوع على قدر كبير من الأهمية، وأنه جدير بالطرح والمناقشة حتى يمكن الوقوف عند هذه المسألة (= تاريخية النص الديني) لبيان مدى كونها الخيار الوحيد الذي لجأ إليه الخطاب الحداثي لحل معضلات الفكر العربي والإسلامي المعاصر؟ وهل يمكن أن تكون التاريخية الأداة المثلى والأقوى لتقويم الراهن؟ وهل أساليبها ومناهجها هي الأفضل الأساليب في قراءة النص الديني؟.
