الانقلابات التي شهدتها دول المنطقة منذ قيامها أواسط القرن الماضي وقفت وراءها مجموعة من الأسباب، حاولنا تسليط الأضواء على أبرز جوانبها والخوض في تفاعلاتها الرئيسة وما أحاط بها من ظروف سياسية محلية واقليمية ودولية، انطلاقاً مما توفر لدينا من شهادات ومذكرات اعتمدتها شخصيات اقليمية ومراجع ووثائق رسمية صدرت عن دول غربية نعتقد أنها لعبت دوراً رئيساً في تلك الأحداث أو كان لها عين المراقب المهتم والمتابع لوقائع تاريخية شكلت منعطفات حاسمة في مسار هذه المنطقة وما زالت حتى اليوم تؤثر على حياة المواطن العادي فيها.
وإن كان لهذه الدراسة أن تركز على جوانب محددة من أشكال الانقلابات في دول المنطقة فهي بذلك تبقي الباب مفتوحاً أمام مجموعة من التساؤلات الضرورية المتعلقة بهذا الموضوع، خصوصاً أنها لم تسع للخوض في الجهود التحليلية المتعلقة بالتفاعلات المحيطة بتلك الوقائع ومدلولاتها السياسية والفكرية إلا قليلا، واكتفت مقابل ذلك بوضع المعطيات الموثقة بين يدي قارئ يمتلك القدرة على المقاربة والتحليل واستخلاص العبر المناسبة.
ولأن الحرية لا تكتمل إلا بالمعرفة نرى أن شحّ الوثائق التي أفرجت عنها الدول الغربية، وانعدام المصادر العربية الرسمية كلياً.. شكل واحدا من أبرز العوائق أمام سعي الأدب السياسي العربي للعمل على اكتمال الصورة في أحجية الانقلابات العسكرية والمدنية التي شهدتها المنطقة، لذا نأمل أن يتمكن الباحث، يوماً ما، من الحصول على الوثائق الرسمية المتعلقة بأحداث بلده، ولو أفرج عنها بعد قرن.
