"أروع ما قيل في الكرم والبخل" كتاب يحمل بين دفتيه الطرافة والمتعة والفائدة في آنٍ لمؤلفه "إميل ناصيف" يبحث في خاصةٍ يشترك فيها جميع البشر وفي كل زمن هي البخل والكرم، لهذا فالمتتبع لما قيل في الكرم في تراثنا العربي يعجب لكثرة ما جاء فيه من أدب وحكم وأمثال وأقوال ذامة البخل داعية إلى الكرم.
لقد جمع لنا المؤلف في كتابه هذا أروع ما في التراث العربي والإسلامي وكذلك ما جاء على لسان الحكماء الأجانب، فجاء الكتاب في أربعة أبواب يتفرع عن كل باب عدة فصول على الشكل الآتي:
الباب الأول جاء بعنوان: "البخل في الأقوال الخالدة" ويضم ثمان فصول نذكر منها: البخل في الدين الإسلامي، البخل في الدين المسيحي، البخل في أقوال الحكماء العرب ... الخ.
الباب الثاني جاء بعنوان: "البخل في النصوص الأدبية" ويسلط فيها الكاتب الأضواء على عدد هام من النصوص الأدبية التي بحثت في البخل، نذكر منها كتاب (الفكاهة عند العرب) لمؤلفه "أنيس فريحة"، (التيه الحمقاء) لمؤلفه "إيليا أبو ماضي"، (البخيل) لمؤلفه "عباس محمود العقاد"، (البخيل لمؤلفه "مصطفى لطفي المنفلوطي" ... الخ.
الباب الثالث جاء بعنوان: "الكرم في الأقوال الخالدة" ويضم ثمان فصول نذكر منها: الكرم في الدين الإسلامي، الكرم في الدين المسيحي، الكرم في أقوال الحكماء العرب ... الخ.
الباب الرابع والأخير جاء بعنوان: "الكرم في النصوص الأدبية" ويسلط فيه الكاتب الأضواء على عدد هام من النصوص الأدبية التي بحثت في الكرم وما جاء به هؤلاء الكتّاب من حكايا حول الكرم، نذكر منها حكاية ابن عبد ربه والإعرابية، نص الأعرابي والإمام علي لمؤلفه "أحمد الهاشمي"، قصيدة (هكذا خلقت) لحاتم الطائي، "الحطيئة" وقصيدته في الكرم، قصة قصيدة للكاتبة البنانية "روز غريب" بعنوان (العطاء)، قصيدة بعنوان (من روائع مدح الكرماء) للفرزدق" ... الخ. إخترنا لك :
البخيل بعيد من الله، بعيد من الجنة، بعيد من الناس، قريب من النار. (النبي محمد (ص).
من جاد ساد، ومن بخل رذل، وإن أجود الناس من أعطى من لا يرجوه (الحسن بن علي (رضي الله عنه).
من أثرى من العدم افتقر من الكرم (أرسطو).
الكريم إذا وعد وفى (مثل عربي).
الذي يعطي الكل لا يعطي أحداً (مثل فرنسي).
