لقد كان للدراسات الفنية النقدية إسهامات جليلة في تناول الأدب العربي عامة، وهذا الكتاب عبارة عن مجموعة بحوث تناولت كل دراسة مشغلاً فنياً ونقدياً، ولكنها لا تقف عند حقل معين مع إختلاف النصوص شعرية كانت أو نثرية.
إن الكشف عن النص أصبح يفرض نفسه في مختلف مجالات المعرفة كالإجتماعية والسياسية والمهنية والنفسية، بوصفها تجليات لمعرفة بواطن المضمر، وما هذه التأملات إلا وسيلة لمقاربة النص على وفق رؤية حديثة حتى ينجلي المعمى فيه، فكان الإشتغال لهذه البحوث يدور حول المعنى وبطاقة مضاعفة تتجاوز بها القراءة الأولى للنص، وبذلك تعبر حاجز الإحتمال وتصبح مرهونة بطريقة من خلال التحقق إذ هي لا تبحث من أجل الإحتمال المتوقع الوصول إليه بل من أجل التيقن بحتمية الوصول؛ وما هذه إلا محاولات إقتحامية في توسيع حدود النشاط النقدي وفتح آفاقه، وهذا الفعل لا يركن إلى السائد المتعارف عنه، بل هو قائم على التفكك المستمر للنص الذي أصبح ثابتاً حتى غداً عائقاً للإنفتاح، وهذه البحوث هي نتيجة جهد تم عرض بعضها في مؤتمرات علمية وأخرى، نشرت في مجلات أكاديمية وأخرى لم تنشر فكان جمعها في كتاب يكون في متناول المهتمين بالأدب العربي.
