أدبُ الرحلاتِ ليس تَسْجيلاً دقيقاً لمِا نُشَاهِدُهُ، بل هو تَعْبِيرٌ عن ثَقَافَتِنا ووعِينا بالمكانِ وبالآخر، فيه تَشْتَغِلُ حواسنا التي كُلَّما كانتْ مُدَرّبةً بِشكلٍ جيدٍ، جَعَلتْنا نُدَوّن ما لا يمكنُ للآخرين تَدويِنُهُ؛ فنحنُ نُدَوّنُ بِذَاكرَاتٍ مُتَشابِكةٍ، ما يَمنَحُها خُصُوصِيتَها وتَفَرُّدَها هو قِرَاءَتُنا التي عَمِلتْ على صَقلِ وعِينَا وإحساسِنا بالمحيط.
ومن هُنا فَقَارِئُ الرواياتِ سوف يَلتِفَتُ إلى التفاصيلِ ويسْردُها، لكنَّ قارئَ الفلسفةِ يُفلسِفُها مع طرحٍ أسئلةٍ (تساؤلات)، أما المهتَمُ بالتاريخِ وعِلمِ الأناسةِ فهو يُكثِرُ من التدقِيقِ في سِلُوكياتٍ المجتمعِ الذي يَزُورَهُ، وفي ثقافِتِهِ، ولو كانَ ممن اُبتُليَ بِعقدِ المقارَنَاتِ بين الثقافاتِ مثلِي، فسوف يَفعلُ بغيةَ البحثِ عما هو مُشتركٌ إنسانيّ، فأُولَى خطواتِ السلامِ تَبدَأ بعد الإعترافِ بإختلافِ الآخر، هو البحثُ عن المشتركات لزيادة أواصرِ الروابطِ الإنسانيةِ وأهمُها المحبةُ.
مِن هنا سِيَجدُ القَارِئُ أن ما يكتبه الرحالة حمدي العطار، أدَب رحلات يَحمِل خصوصية مُبدِعه.
