يرى الشاعر محمد القيسي نفسه في هذا الكتاب وخارجه كما يقول ويراه: كنصوص شفوية عن القصيدة والكتابة والمرأة والمنفى وعن أماكن التجوال, وأشياء أخرى, هي في أساسيات مكونات حياتي الخاصة ومعناها العميق. كان يمكن الجلوس إلى كتابتها, لكنه ما كان لهذه الكتابة إن تمت, أن تحتشد بمساحة الصدق ودرجات البساطة التي تتكشف عنها المادة الشفوية, ذلك أن الجلوس إلى طاولة الكتابة, يستدعي أدوات صناعتها, بينما الشفوية تنطلق من دفء العفوية والبساطة التي أشار إليها بورخيس. بلى أراه كنصوص شفوية, لا مكتوبة ومنولوجات, يحدث أحياناً أن تتقارب لغة وشجىً, بمعنى وقوفها الحر خارج حقل التنظير, أو الأفكار الإقصائية النافية لغيرها, هي لا تنشغل بذلك أو تكرس له جهداً بل ترتسم كشبابيك أو نوافذ, غير شبابيك ونوافذ القصيدة, وإن كانت محكومة بجدلية هذه الفضاءات, التي تتقاطع ولا تتصادم. وهو في مستوى آخر إضافة إلى كونه نصوصاً شفوية ومنولوجات دعابة ما, قد تأخذ هيئة سيرة شفوية لتجربة الكتابة والقصيدة, ويرصد القول فيها تحولات هذه الكتابة, وتطور مفهومها, عبر هذا الامتداد الزمني الطويل نسبياً, وما طال الذات من نضج ووعي معرفي, وهو بالضرورة وراء هذا المنجز الكتابي وأشكاله المتغيرة, ومن هنا يجيء مبرر هذه الدعابة, وتتحدد كغاية.
