ولد سنة 1935بالدار البيضاء (عمالة سطات).
اشتغل بالتعليم الابتدائي ابتداء من سنة 1952.
حصل على الإجازة في الفلسفة وعلم النفس وعلم الاجتماع سنة 1967، ثم على دبلوم الدراسات العليا في علم النفس سنة 1975، كما أحرز على دكتوراه الدولة سنة 1988.
يشتغل حاليا قيدوما لكلية الآداب والعلوم الإنسانية – بنمسيك سيدي عثمان – البيضاء.
انضم إلى اتحاد كتاب المغرب سنة 1961.
يتوزع إنتاجه بين القصة القصيرة، الرواية، المقالة الأدبية والبحث في علم النفس والتربية.
نشر أعماله بمجموعة من الصحف والمجلات: التحرير، العلم، دعوة الحق، أقلام، الآداب، الكتاب العربي، الوحدة، أبعاد فكرية، العربي...

"لا صوت يتساءل أو يجيب . الصمت الآن بينه وبين مصطفى هذه المرة، والواصل زنزانة ييمود السجينة؛ يلتحق به فيها مصطفى ضيفاً فوق العادة، خلاف كل عادة سجينة. ينقطع صوت مصطفى، ستحسسه يمود في الصمت بالقرب منه، يتحسس أنفاس توقعاته منه كأنما على يمود أن يرد. يسود الصمت، تشملهما به هدأة الزنزانة المشتركة كما كانت تشملهما به ضجة العنفوان ...".
لعل هذا المقتبس من رواية (خيط الروح) للكاتب المغربي مبارك ربيع يلخص سنوات من عمر أبطاله، وعمر بلدان، لا تزال العلاقة فيها بين الحاكم والمحكوم ملتبسة، وشائكة، وعلى شفا حفرة من جهنم. من هذا المفتاح يقتحم الروائي واحداً من مثلت المحرمات العربية (السياسة) ويقيم على أساسها نصه، في عالم مرجعي يتكامل فيه القمع السياسي مع المحرم الإجتماعي مع المقدس الديني، عندئذ تغدو الكتابة نوعاً من الحفر الذي يتهيب كثيرون الإقتراب منه، ولكن مبارك ربيع خاضه بعين الناقد والأديب عبر شبكة من العلاقات الروائية والحكايات المختلفة بتقاطعها وافتراقها الذي شكل في النهاية رواية هي "خيط الروح" ولا شيء غيرها.
