بين الديني والدنيوي تتموضع حركة السرد في رواية "زينب والخيط الذهبي" للروائية الأردنية إيمان أسعد مستفيدة من أحسن وأفضل تقاليد الواقعية، وبمزاوجة متواشحة مع حداثية تدفعُ بالحكاية إلى حدّ السوريالية، والواقعية السحرية.
تحكي الرواية قصة زينب ابنة الثلاثة عشر ربيعاً، فقدت والدتها عندما كانت طفلة، وتولت أختها الكبرى سلمى تربيتها بعد وفاة والدتهما قبل اثني عشر عاماً في حادث سيارة - على الرغم من كون سلمى ذاتها طفلة في ذاك الوقت – ولم تتخلّ يوماً عن مسؤوليتها تجاه أخيها الشيخ زكريا وأختها الصغرى. ولكن زينب أرادت أن تحظى بمكانة خاصة عند العائلة لا يشاركها فيها أحد وكان لها ما أرادت، فهي "عصفورة أبيها الصغيرة" وبيت أسرار "تيته فاطمة"؛ فوحدها من يعرف سرّ الخيط الذهبي ويعرف مكانه وهو - إرث الجدة - الذي سوف تُنسج حوله حكايات وحكايات، بإيقاع يتواصل. وكل حكاية هي جزء من النسيج الأساس للنص، فتختلط الرؤية الشاعرية بأدبية النص، وبفيض اليقين، ومهما يكن، فالرواية تمتد على شبكة من العلاقات، يتداخل فيها الخيال بالواقع، والزمني بالديني، وهو تداخل تمارسه الكاتبة ببراعة تتألق تواصلاً؛كمن يجمع أشلاء زمن متصرم بالكتابة، ويجمد اللحظات الهاربة على صفحات بيضاء.
من أجواء الرواية نقرأ:
"تيته راح تزعل إذا عرفت إنه خيطها الذهبي ضاع، راح تزعل كتير. أنا باعرف. لهيك خبريها إنك أمنتيني إياه لأخبيه، حتى ما حدا يلمسه، حتى ما يتوسخ وهو بإيدنا ويظل نظيف، وبس خبيته منيح، كتير منيح، نسيت، نسيت وين خبيته ونسيت كيف بدي ألاقيه. ولما ما عاد في وقت لأدور عليه مع كل هالشغل وكل هالناس وكل هالدنيا ضاع... ضاع من إيدي... بس راح ألاقيه وما راح أضيعه من إيدي مرة تانية. وإذا هالقصة ما نفعت معك زينب، وإذا ظلت تيته زعلانة كتير، قولي لها إنه ما يسوى زعلها، كله شقفة خيط. هيك خلصنا وحجابك صار جاهز.
تناولت زينب الحجاب من يد سلمى بعد أن طرزت على طرفه صورة بكرة خيط ذهبي. عانقت زينب أختها الكبرى وقبلتها وأخبرتها كم هي تحبها لأنها أنقذتها، ثم طوت حجابها لتحمله على كفيها وقت الحفل...".
