في ذكرى رحيل مفيد أبو مراد الثانية، أراد جمعٌ من ذويه ورفاق دربه ومحبيه، بمبادرة من حلقة الحوار الثقافي، أن يحيو هذه الذكرى من خلال يوم تربوي (في 18 كانون الأول 2001) دعت إليه كلّ من كلية التربية في الجامعة اللبنانية وحلقة الحوار الثقافي، فتلتئم من خلاله ندوتان حول فكر مفيد أبو مراد في التربية والثقافة. وتًدر "مؤسسة هادي أبو مراد: صحّة، بيئة، تنمية" هذا الكتاب في هذه المناسبة. وهو يضمّ مقالات مختارة من بين التي كتبها مفيد أبو مراد خلال العقدين الأخيرين من حياته ونشرتها كلّ من مجلة الأبحاث التربوية في كلية التربية والمجلة التربوية في المركز التربوي للبحوث والإنماء وجريدتي النهار والسفير. ويحتوي الكتاب كذلك على دراسات أعدّها ستّة من رفاق درب المربي الراحل، وهي تشكل أساس ندوات اليوم التربوي. وقد تمّ توزيع مجمل النصوص على أربعة أبواب رئيسية، هي: 1-التربية وأنظمتها ومناهجها، 2-التعريب، 3-اللغة، 4-التربية والمعتقد. يشكّل نصوص لكل من الدكتور "محمد كاظم مكي" والدكتور "ميشال عبد المسيح" والأستاذ "ميلاد طويل" مدخلاً للباب الأول. ويشكل نص للأستاذ ميلاد طويل مدخلاً للباب الثاني. ويشكل نصان لكل من الدكتور "رياض قاسم" والدكتور "عصام الجوهري" مدخلاً للباب الثالث. أما نصّ الأستاذ "نجات نعيمة ناصيف" فيشكل مدخلاً للباب الرابع. وإذ يمثل الباب الأول الحيز الأكبر من نصوص المربي الراحل.
