"هناك عراك في الخارج" ديوان شعري يضم ثلاثون قصيدة تُعتبر العمل الأول لشاعرة معاصرة من لبنان هي "سمر دياب" تطل فيه على العالم، فلا ترى سوى خراباً ودماراً وعراكاً. تكتب عن لبنان، عن الوطن، عن الحرب، تبحث عن بقعة ضوء تقول "أحاول أن أنبش جمالاً ما في الحرب، في الموت، في الركام والحطام (...) الحرب قذرة وجه لا ينفع معه تجميل ولا تبرير مهما حشدنا من طاقات المخيلة والأنزياحات ..."
هي شاعرة لا تنزوي داخل الأحلام، بل داخل الكوابيس فيغدو الشعر معها قادراً على "جعل الموت جميلاً، الوحيد الذي يجعلنا نشهق من الجمال في نص مليء بالجثث والدم والقهر". تقول في قصيدة بعنوان [أيتها المقبرة ... يا طفلتي الهادئة]
، لستُ رمحاً في رأس أحدهم ، أنا ، لست أيضاً رمقاً واقفاً ينتظر آخره ، لكني مع ذلك جميلة – جداً - ، وأنا أتدلى من فرج الأرض ، رأسي في الخارج يتأمل العالم ، وقدماي في الداخل تركلان أخوتي ...".
