يتجاوز هذا الدرس مأزق القراءات البنيوية والسردية الشكلية باتجاه أفق هرمنيوطيقي واعد، يحتفل بالنص بما هو ساحة من القوى الدلالية المتوترة، مستفيداً من دروس هيدجر وجادامر ومصطفى ناصف، حتى يصل في النهاية إلى تطوير استراتيجية تأويلية قوامها الحوار مع النص الأدب.
وتفتتح المؤلفة، في هذا الكتاب، حديثاً شاقاً وعسيراً عن العلاقة الغامضة بين الجسد والروح كما تتبدى في رواية إدوار الخراط الفاتنة "صخور السماء." يبدأ الموت مع الجسد ورغباته، وتسرد الروحُ قصتهما معاً؛ لأن الجسد لا يعرف الكلام· الجسد يفعل والروح تتكلم· فالإنسان جامع متوتر على الدوام.
ويحكي هذا الكتاب قصة هذا التوتر من خلال النص الأدبي. ويبدو أن التوتر الذي يستغرق النصَّ يستغرق أيضاً منهجَ الكتاب؛ فالمؤلفة لا تُسْلم نفسَها إلى مبادئ الهرمنيوطيقا إسلاماً كاملاً، بل تتوتر نتائج الدرس بين التأويل والتفكيك، أو على الأصح تقف في المنتصف بينهما· وفى هذه المسافة البينية تتألق حساسية القراءة ويتوهج الكتاب.
