لقيت المقدمة الآجرومية في النحو اهتماماً قد يكون مما انفرد به هذا متن في النحو، وله عشرات من الشروح والحواشي حتى أن العمريطي نظمها فيما يزيد على مائتي بيت، ومع كون ابن آجروم فاسياً مغربياً إلا أنها انتشرت حتى قيل "من دخل النحو منها فتح له ومن لم يدخله منها لم يفتح له" وها هم علماء اليمن يولونها الاهتمام فشرحها الرعيني الحطاب باختصار مورداً التعريفات والأمثلة، ثم تلقى الشيخ محمد الأهدل شرحه بالعناية فصله ونسب الأقوال والفوائد إلى أصحابها في كتبهم وأعرب كثيراً منها، وتمم الفائدة الشيخ عبد الله الشعبي فشرح شواهد "الكواكب" مبيناً بحرها وقائلها ومعناها اللغوي وإعرابها والشاهد فيها فجاء عظيم الفائدة.
