محمد غازي الأخرس، وهو كاتب ومؤلف عراقي، ولد في 17 حزيران/يونيو 1967، ببغداد.
وحصل على شهادة البكلوريوس في اللغة الفرنسية عام 1994 ثم على شهادتي البكلوريوس والماجستير في الأدب العربي، ولقد كتب الشعر منذ ثمانينيات القرن الماضي، وله ديوان عنوانه "شمعون" صدر عام 1997 بطريقة الاستنساخ، ونشط في المقالة والنقد منذ منتصف التسعينيات، وكانت أفكاره تلقى قبولاً واسعاً لدى العراقيين. وألّف عدة كتب تناولت الواقع الثقافي في العالم العربي، والعراقي تحديداً، كان أهمها "خريف المثقف في العراق" الذي أحدث جدلاً في الوسط الثقافي، رغم أنه نال من الثناء أكثر مما ناله من الانتقاد.,.

حكايا الحب لا تنتهي، ولن تنتهي، إنّها مبثوثة في كل متخيّلنا، مبثوثة في صيغ اللغة وإستعاراتها، وفي حكايانا الشعبية، العشق يلفّنا، ويسعدنا ويجرحنا.
المرأة هي بطلة الكتاب، يزعم المؤلف ذلك، مفكّراً أنّها ربما ستستعيد دورها القديم، يوم أعطيت كل النواميس، وباتت في الحاكمة المتحكّمة، لا بالرجل فقط، بل بالحياة والعوالم كلها، هذا ما تسرّه سيرة "إنانا" آلهة العاشقات ورمزهنَّ المقدّس، وهي في الوقت نفسه مقهورة غالباً، فاقدة للإرادة، وتبدو دائماً صنيعة الرجل في الأنساق والمفاهيم.
الكتاب يتتبع هذه الصورة المزدوجة للمرأة والرجل أيضاً، فالأخير يتحكم بحياة شريكته، لكنه يرتهن بها عاشقاً مأسوراً بجمالها وسحرها.
المرأة مقهورة وقاهرة، والرجل قاهر ومقهور كذلك، لذلك سنرى الذكر يعبّر عن وجدانه تجاه الحبيبة برشاقة عجيبة في الشعر والغناء والكنايات.
والطريف أنه ينظر إلى معذّبته كمن ينظر إلى محارب لا يستطيع التغلّب عليه، وهنا يستمدّ الذكر من عمق الميثيولوجية تلك الصفات المنسيّة للأنثى الإلهة التي انقلب عليها لاحقاً واستعبدها كما يقول الكتاب.
وكل ذلك يأتي في رحلة تمرُّ بقصص الغرام الشعبي، متأملة الفولكلور المرتبط بها، واللغة الدائرة حولها، وفي غضون ذلك، تحضر الإنتروبولوجيا لتفسّر كل شيء بما في ذلك التابوات المحرَّمة التي ارتبطت بالغرام.
هذا الكتاب عبارة عن دهليز يقودك إلى متحف كبير ومعقّد يحوي متخيّل العشاق.
