هذا كتاب في الخطاب، والخطاب في الشعر العربي عندنا، هو ما تحقّقت فيه الذات وهي تفاوض غيرها، نعني الآخر؛ الذات منتسبةً إلى الآخر لكنّها تروم فوته، وللآخر، بوصفه كائناً متحوّلاً ينزع التالي إلى أن يمحو آثاره وإن كان ينتسب إليه؛ فهو يروم أن يقدّه في كلّ فعل على صورة جديدة، والذات المنشئة هي السبيل إلى الذاكرة، وكلّ لحظة فنّية هي لحظة تأسيس لمسلك جديد إلى الذاكرة.
إنّ هذا يعني أنّ الخطاب الواحد، ترتفع فيه أصوات عديدة لا يجوز ردّها إلى المفرد، فكلّ خطاب يردّد في نسيجه أصداء الذوات الأخرى، تلازمه الإقامة في خطابه ملازمة أصداء الثقافة الشّائعة وكائناتها، الموروث منها والمصاحب؛ فيقدّ من تصاريفها حدثاً فرداً، بديلاً عنها.
تلك هي ديناميكيّة الأتّباع، فكأنّما الخطاب، في علاقته بالنّموذج مدعوّ إلى أن يغادر ذاته، وهو لا يقد ذّاته إلا بإعادة تشكيل المتنوّع، وهذا يعني أنّ الغيرية هي الظرف الذي يكون فيه المقصد والمعنى، وتكون فيها مسالك تحقّق الذاتية.
إنّ الإقرار بإرتداد النصوص إلّى غيرية في القول متّبعة، لا يفضي إلى إلغاء هويّة النصّ الواحد وإنكار حظّه من الطرافة وحظّ المشترك القديم إلى أن يكون سبيلاً إلى تفريعات غضّة فتيّة، بل إنّ هذه التفريعات هي الشرط في إستمرار المشترك إذ يصرّفه أمراء البيان أنّى شاءوا.
وهذا يعني أنّ السنّة الشعرية المتّبعة ليست قوةّ مكبّلة وإنّما هي قوة تحرّرية، تفاعلية، تنعتق من وضع الثبوت وتجري في مجاري الحياة وإن ظلّت المرجع الدّائم في التصنيف وفي صناعة المعنى، فهي أشبه ما تكون بغاية النصّ ومقصده وإن مضت، سيّارة إلى الأمام وإن ساءلت واستوقفت.
الإتّباع إذن تصريف للسّنة وإمتحان لها في آن.هي أشبه ما تكون بنصّ جامع، ديناميكي، فهي لأجل ذلك غير منتهيّة عند حدّ وإن انحسر الإتّجاه الغالب فيها، ولا متحقّقة تحقّقاً نهائيّاً وإنّما هي متجدّدة التشكّل، يكون فيها النصّ الفرد أثراً من آثارها وفاعلاً من فواعل صيرورتها في آن.
إنّ تفاوض الشاعر مع السنّة، ساعة الإتّباع، هو سبيله إلى التدلال، والتدلال هو فنّ الإتّباع في الشعر القديم.
