يتحدث المؤلف في هذا الكتاب عن صفحات مجد وفخار للمحاماة والمحامين من قيمها وتقاليدها وأخلاق أعضائها وعلمهم وعظمائهم وتشريعهم... وهدفه تعريف هذه الأمة من صنع لها تاريخها ودافع عنها من أبنائها المحامين... وليعرف هذا الجيل والأجيال القادمة كرامة المحاماة وكفاحها وأبناءها الذين أفنوا حياتهم في سبيل إعلاء كلمة الحق والدفاع عن الوطن.
وبالعودة لمضمون هذا الكتاب نجد أنه قد جاء متألفاً من ثلاثة أبواب خصص أولها المبادئ الأساسية اللازمة لإعداد المحامي خلقاً وعلماً فتحدث عن تعريف هذه المهنة وعناصرها وعلاقتها بالمجتمع ودورها فيه وصلتها بالحريات والحياة السياسية ودورها في الكفاح الوطني.
بعد ذلك انتقل ليبين العلم الذي يجب أن يعلمه المحامي، وعلاقة هذا العلم "العمل القانوني" بالمحاماة" من ثم تناول بيان أخلاق المحامي وسلوكه في المحكمة وخارجها وتعامله مع جميع أنواع القضاة من الذكي العالم إلى المتشدد الجاهل. وختم هذا الفصل بمناقشة حياة المحامي الخاصة والعامة وبعلاقة مع زملائه المحامين، وسلوكه الذي يجب أن يسلكه بمكتبه.
هذا كله على صعيد الباب الأول أما الباب الثاني فخصص لترجمة بعض رجالات المحاماة العظماء أمثال: "مصطفى باشا كامل" "إبراهيم بك الهلباوي" المعروف بشيخ المحامين، و"محمد أبو شادي بك" و"مرقص حنا باشا"، و"محمد شوكت التوني وغيرهم... ولما كان لجانب الإصلاح في مهنة المحاماة مكانة خاصة، إذ أنه يكفل الحفاظ على تقاليد المحاماة وقيمها من كون المحامي عالماً فقهيا يفي جميع الفروع القانونية والعلوم الأخرى المتصلة بالقانون وبالتالي يجب إصلاح المحاماة علمياً ومناقشة المواد التشريعية الخاصة بقانون المحاماة لتعديلها. فقد خصص هذا الباب وهو الرابع للحديث عن الإصلاح العلمي للمحاماة، وضمانات المحامي القانونية وذلك كل في فصل مستقل.
