"فتح الشكور في معرفة أعيان علماء التكرور" كتاب ذو أهمية بالغة في تاريخ الثقافة العربية في مكان وزمان معين لا يكاد المختصون يعرفون عنهما إلا قليلاً، وبذلك يسدّ فراغاً كبيراً في المكتبة العربية فهو يشتمل على مائتي ترجمة لعلماء عاشوا في المنطقة مدة تقرب من مائة وستين سنة (1056-1215هـ/1650-1800م) والكتاب يتضمن كثير من هذه التراجم تاريخ مولد المترجم، وأحياناً بتعيين اليوم والساعة، ومكان ولادته وتاريخ وفاته وتسمية أشياخه وما درسه عليهم من كتب وعلوم، وأحياناً أسانيده عنهم إلى مؤلفي هذه الكتب، وما درسه هو لطلبته، تسمية بعض من أخذوا عنه، ورحلته إن كان مؤلفاً، والوظائف التي تولاها من أمامة وقضاء وإفتاء، وصفاته الفاضلة من زهد وتقوى وصلاح واعتناء بالعلم وحرص على التعليم واهتمام بجمع الكتب إن كان له اعتناء بذلك وما أشبهه هكذا تقدم هذه التراجم معلومات قيمة للباحثين عن مراكز الدراسة وموضوعاتها وكتب الدراسة وصلة المشيخة والتلمذة بين الأجيال، والتأثير بين مراكز الثقافة العربية المختلفة في هذه المرحلة، وأسماء كتب التراث العربي التي كانت موجودة في المنطقة والتي كان أهل العلم يستفيدون منها إذ ذاك، وأسماء مؤلفات علماء التكرور التي ساهموا بها في المحصول الضخم للمؤلفات العربية عبر القرون الثقافية في مختلف أقاليم آسيا وأفريقيا وأوربا، والتي تتضافر جهود الباحثين منذ أجيال المحاولة إحصائها والتعرف عليها وعلى مراكزها في العالم.
