دراسة تحليلية نقدية لأهم مواضيع الفلسفة وأعلامها. استهليناها بالكلام على تعريف الفلسفة ونشأتها وعلاقتها بالعلم والدين. وعرضنا فيها للفلسفة العربية الإسلامية من خلال بعض أهم أعلامها كالكندي والفارابي وابن باجه وابن رشد.
وركزنا فيها على فكر عصر النهضة وما رافق ذلك العصر من إصلاح ديني على يد لوثر وكالفن. وثورة فلكية وعلمية على يد كوبرنيكوس وكبلر وغاليلي، فضلاً عن فرنسيس بيكون.
وعكفنا فيها على دراسة الفلسفة الحديثة، لا سيما عقلانية القرن السابع عشر على يد ديكارت وليبنز ونيوتن، وكذلك فلسفة عصر التنوير على يد مونتسكيو وروسو وفولتير وكانط وهيوم.
وأبرزنا فيها فلسفة التاريخ في القرن التاسع عشر على يد هيغل وكونت وفويرباخ وماركس.
وخصصنا فيها فصلين لدراسة الفلسفة المعاصرة بمختلف مواضيعها وإشكالاتها، فعرضنا لبعض النظريات العلمية، لا سيما نظرية النسبية عند أينشتين، ونظرية الكوانتم عند ماكس بلانك، وعلاقة الارتياب أو اللاحتمية عند هايزنبرغ. ودرسنا التحليلية المنطقية عند مور ورسل وفتجنشتين، فضلاً عن الوجودية عند هيدغر وسارتر.
كما ركزنا على الفلسفة المعاصرة والثورة العلمية، فيناولنا موضوع التكنولوجيا وآثارها الاجتماعية، وذكرنا بنتائج التطور العلمي الإيجابية والسلبية وعرضنا لأخلاق الحضارة التكنولوجية، وارتأينا أن المجتمع الإنساني يحتاج اليوم إلى أخلاق جديدة، بغية الحد من التدهور الاجتماعي والسياسي، وبالتالي الحد من خطر الدمار الزاحف والانفجار الذي بات يهدد السلم العالمي...
