يقول المؤلف في مقدمة كتابه "الأشياء بأسمائها": "إن الثورة القادمة في لبنان لن تكون حرب الآخرين على أرضه، ولا اقتتالاً بين الطوائف أو المذاهب، ولا صراعاً على السلطة بين الزعامات، وإنما حرب الفقير على الغني، حرب الجائع على المتخم... هذه الثورة القادمة لا محالة إذا لم ندرأ شرورها بالوعي والجدية في معالجة أسباب مشاكلنا، جنباً إلى جنب مع المشاكل التي كانت حصيلة تلك الأسباب..."
وفي هذا الكتاب يحاول المؤلف تجدير حق المواطن وواجبه في خدمة وطنه، وتعميم هذا المفهوم والإحساس العام به، وبضرورته وممارسته أمر من الأهمية بمكان، لأن إيقاظ هذه النزعة الراكدة في الذاكرة والنفس وإخراجها إلى حيز الواقع والممارسة، يدفعان بعربة التطور والحركة إلى متابعة الدوران، فيخرج الواقع الاجتماعي من دائرة الجمود وتنشيط الممارسة السياسية لمتابعة مسيرتها في مواكبة عاقلة للتطور الحاصل حولنا وفي العالم.
وهدف المؤلف من هذا الكتاب هو وضع حجر في بناء هذا الوطن، وذلك لاستعادته من غفوته الطويلة أولاً، ومن ثم إعادة بنائه وتطويره ودفع الدماء في شرايين كيانه لتعود الحياة إليه حتى ينمو ويكبر به ومعه ثانياً وأخيراً. ومن العناوين اللافتة التي تضمنها الكتاب: تركيبة المجتمع اللبنانى بعد الأحداث، ومسؤولية التردي على مستوى النظام السياسي والحكم، تصوّر لمشروع نظام سياسي يتوافق مع طبيعة نسيجنا الاجتماعي.
