يبقى أن نشير أن القصائد تعود إلى جيل الأربعينات والخمسينيات من القرن العشرين، وهذا ما يكتشفه القارىء من أسماء الشعراء، وثيمات النصوص، ولغة الشعراء. وإذا كان لنا أن نقرأ شيئاً من المختارات نختار الشاعر الباكستاني فيض أحمد فيض في قصيدته المعنونة (أغسطس 1952): " لا يزال الربيع بعيداً / بيد أن علاماته بدأت تظهر: / الزهور ذاتها متحرقة للتفتق / فتحت ياقاتها / في هذا الوقت من الخريف / واقتراب الشتاء يمكن سماع الأوراق: / فرقتها الموسيقية تعزف في أركان الحديقة الخبيثة (...) ".
