لغة بسيطة وآسرة كأنها إيقاع شعري، تنهض من خلاله ملامح الجدة التي تعرف المصائر وتحفظ الأحداث، نراها من خلال طفل صغير فيه براءة الإكتشاف الأولى. وبرغم أن أبطال القصة كلهم من الناس المغمورين فإن خلفيتها هي الأحداث التاريخية الكبرى للتاريخ السوري المعاصر.
