شجّعني على التقديم لهذه الرواية أسبابٌ كثيرة، اولها علاقتي الحميمة بمدينة غرناطة الأندلسيّة؛ فقد كانت أكثر دراساتي في الأدب الأندلسيّ عن هذه المدينة وأدبها وتاريخها وحضارتها وشخصياتها، وقد زرتها مراراً عديدة وكنت كلّما غادرتها أشعر بحنين يتجدّد إليها، وكنت وما زلت أعدّها وطناً عزيزاً غالياً.
وثاني هذه الأسباب إحترامي لكاتب هذه الرواية الدكتور فايز رشيد ولإسهاماته الفكرية والأدبيّة، إذ صدرت له عشرات المؤلّفات التي من بينها عدد من الروايات مثل "وما زالت سعاد تنتظر" 2011، و"عائد إلى الحياة" 2014، و"أفول" 2016.
ولذلك، فهو صاحب تجربة في فنّ الرواية، فضلاً عن ثقافته الواسعة في الأدب الإسباني وإطلاعه على تاريخ العرب في الأندلس وآدابهم، وثالث هذه الأسباب التي دعتني إلى التقديم لهذه الرواية أنّها من نوع روايات المكان وهو النوع الذي أحبّه وأستمتع بقراءته، وهي بذلك تشبه روايات أنطونيو غالا ورضوى عاشور وهي مصادر رجع إليها الكاتب، وهو لون من العمل الروائي يعتمد على دقة وصف الأمكنة ووضع القارئ في حالة تخيّلية تجعله يتمثّل المكان بأدقّ تفاصيله وصوره ومتعلّقاته.
وتجتمع في هذه الرواية عناصر من عدّة فنون: الرواية والرحلة والسرد التاريخي، فهي رواية متشابكة المعطيات ومتعدّدة المرجعّيات والإنتماءات، فهي تندرج في فنّ الرحلة إذا شئت، وفي فنّ رواية المكان إذا شئت، والرواية التاريخية إذا شئت أيضاً، وهي في جميع الأحوال تتطلب من الكاتب ثقافة واسعة ومتشعّبة وقراءات عديدة تاريخية وجغرافية وادبيّة، كما تتطلب إلماماً دقيقاً بالثقافة الإسبانية المعاصرة والثقافة الأندلسيّة القديمة.
