وقد اهتم الأستاذ "السبيتي" بتقديم صورة حقة في التحليل الصحيح في أدب التراجم ليعطي صورة عن الصحابة تعرفه للقارئ كما هو؛ كما رد المؤلف على المستشرق ماسنيون الذي وصف الصحابي كشخصية قلقة تارة ومستشار مفضل للرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم تارة أخرى، بالإضافة إلى الكثير من التناقضات التي تعرض إليها في هذا الكتاب.
