إن شأن الصلاة عظيم، فهي ركن الإسلام، وعمود الدين، هذا وقد أمر الله تعالى بإقامتها، والمحافظة عليها، في مواضع كثيرة من كتابه، وحذر من تضيعها، والسهو عنها في مواضع أخر. ورهب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم من تركها، أو الإخلال بشروطها أو أركانها أو واجباتها، ورغب في إقامتها كما أمر الله تعالى، وبين تفاصيل ذلك وأجزائه، ولما كان الحضور في الصلاة والخشوع فيها لب الصلاة وروحها، والمقصود الأعظم من الأمر بإقامتها، وكان ما يكتب للعبد من ثواب صلاته مرتباً عليه معلقاً به.
فقد رأى "عدنان عبد الحي الكفاوين" أن يجمع هذا المؤلف النافع وذلك لبيان وتفصيل الوسائل والطرق الموصولة إلى تحقيق الخشوع في الصلاة. وفي هذا الإطار تحدث المؤلف عن الخشوع في الصلاة بشكل خاص، مبيناً معناه وفضائله وموجباته، كما وتحدث عن الخشوع في الصلاة بشكل خاص مبنياً حكمه، وفضائله والوسائل المعينة على تحقيقه، وأحوال الخاشعين في صلاتهم.
