"رحلتي إلى المدينة المنورة" كتاب هو من نوادر أدب الرحلات ومن عيون التراث العربي، ألَفه علاقة الشام "جمال الدين القاسمي" بقصد إظهار رمزية هذه المدينة على سائر البلاد وكان ذلك في عام (1328) والكتاب في مضمونه وريقات سجلَ فيها المؤلف انطباعاته على مفكرة يومية أثناء حركة مسيرة إلى المدينة المنورة، فخطر له –كما يقول- "أن أنقل إلى هذه الورقات أوقات تلك الرحلة، حفظاً لها من الضياع، وذكرى لأيام قرَت لها العيون، وسرت الأسماع".
وفي الكتاب يأتي عرض مفكرة المؤلف القاسمي كسرد يومي حيث تبدأ الرحلة بتاريخ (الإثنين-24 ربيع الأول سنة 1328هـ) وفيها يذكر مرافقة صهره خليل بك العظم، وشقيقه عبد الله بك، وصهره حسن أفندي بركات، ورفيق آخر، وكيف سار بهم القطار الحجازي من دمشق مروراً ببلدان أخرى حتى وصولهم المدينة المنورة (الخميس 27 ربيع الأول سنة 1328هـ)، حيث الجلوس في المسجد النبوي الشريف، والصلاة على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وزيارة الحضرة النبوية، ثم زيارة قبور الصحابة في البقيع، و"قباء لطيف" و"بئر أريس" "الذي سقط فيه خاتم النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم من يد عثمان"، ويختتم بقص السيرة النبوية في قباء والخيف على الإخوان في تلك الرحلة قائلاً: "فيا لله ما أجلَ ذلك المكان اللطيف".
إلى ذلك، يتضمن هذا الكتاب نصوص إجازات القاسمي للأعلام 1- السيخ محمد بن جعفر الكتابي صاحب "الرسالة المستطرفة"، 2- إجازته للشيخ محمد عبد الحي الكتاني، صاحب "فهرس الفهارس"، 3- إجازته للشيخ أحمد محمد شاكر صاحب التحقيقات المشهورة، وهذه الإجازات هي من لطائف العلم ومذاقته، وتدخل في فن التراجم والإجازات، يعرف بها أسلوب أهل القرون الماضية، ويظهر فيها مدى حرصهم على هذا الفن المتعلق بالرواية والإجازات.
