أقدمتُ على ترجمة هذا الكتاب المؤطلس إنطلاقاً من ضرورة إحتواء المكتبة العربية على مرجع نادر يدرسُ مرحلةً عاتمةً تماماً في مخيالنا، حول تطوُّر الإنسان ورؤاه الإبداعية ومقدراته على الخلق والتعبير، تشملُ مسافاتٍ زمنيّة تمتدُ بعيداً في التاريخ السحيقِ، قبل ظهور الحضارات الأساسية المعروفة.
وهذا الكتاب هو الجزء الثالث، لكنه الأكبر والأهمُّ، من كتابٍ يدرسُ بالإضافة إلى الفن التَّشكيلي الأدوات والسكن والدفن عند الإنسان الباليوليثي (البدائيّ، البدئي، البري، إنسان الصيِّد، ولاقط الثّمار)، وبإعتباره يثير الدهشة في مقدرات أسلافنا الحقيقيين على الإبداع، وينير الزوايا المعتمة والصامتة عن تلك الأزمنة الغابرة التي امتدَّتْ على مساحةٍ زمنيةٍ ما يعادل 35000 سنة (بين 45000 قبل عصرنا وحتى حوالي 5000- 10000 سنة قبل الميلاد) ويثبت بما لا يدع مجالاً للشَّكِّ أن النموَّ الثقافيَّ - الحضاريَّ غير مرتبط بالضرورة بالحضارة التقنية، فقد وجدتُ فيه عملاً جليلاً يستحق المتابعة والإطِّلاع.
لكنَّ المعرفة التكنولوجية تشكِّلُ بناء ثقافيّاً مستقلاً ضمن الهيكليَّة الشمولية للمنظومة الأنتروبولوجيَّة المعرفيَّة، وبالتالي، فهي جزءٌ من منظومة الإبداع نفسه، أي علينا أن نفصل بينها وبين التكنولوجيا كعجلات، التي قد يقومُ بقيادتها واحتواءها أيُّ راعي بقر لا يملك من روح وجوّانيات الإنسان غير بعض القشور.
