حل الشتاء أخيراً. هطلت بواكير الثلج الذي سيسذوب غداً. و في مركز المدينة في الليل, سيجرفونه بالآلات, و سيبدأعمال التنظيف معركتهم اليومية التي ستطول عدة أشهر, حتى بداية نيسان تقريباً. هنا قرب الاضواحي, يثير هذا الثلج الخفيف الفتي بهجة أكبر. إنه يذكرنا بعيد رأس السنة, و يبدو كبداية لعيد. ما يزال النهار يتأخر في الطلوع كما في تشرين الثاني و الناس يخرجون من بيوتهم و هم يفكرون: ها قد حل الشتاء و خفية مضى عام آخر!.. و عندما تلوح الشمس عبر الغيوم الواطئة فإن الشارع الطويل ذا البيت الأبيض العالي المحاط ببيوت خشبية صغيرة و أسيجة و سقائف, يبدو, في عمق الساحات, أنيقاً بلا مناسبة, و تنتابك الحيرة بسبب هذا...... بهذه العبارات على لسان أحد شخصيات الفيلم و الذي يدعى: بوشكين يبدأ الكاتب سيناريو فيلمه المرآة.
