هذا الكتاب الذي بين يدي القارئ يتحدث فيه مؤلفه عن هؤلاء الأشراف الهواشم، وهو منهم وكما قيل أهل مكة أدرى بشعابها، ويمتاز مؤلفه الحبيب الشريف إبراهيم بن منصور الأمير في بحثه هذا بالدقة والأمانة في النقل فلا تجده أورد معلومة إلا وثّقها ولا حادثة إلا أسندها، وهذا ما يميز المؤرخ الثبت والباحث العميق، وهو هنا لم يكتف بما أورده المؤرخون عن هذه الطبقة وأمرائها، بل تعرّض لأنساب هذا البيت الكريم وربط حاضرها بماضيها وأبان تفرعاتهم وأسماء أفخاذهم ومن أين يفترقون وإلى أي حد يجتمعون، وكذلك تطرق لأعلام الهواشم المعاصرين وتحدث عنهم وترجم كل واحد منهم ترجمة وافية ليس فيها من المبالغة شيء ولا من التطويل الممل أو الإيجاز المخل ما يكدر صفوها.
والحقيقة إن هذا الكتاب إضافة جديدة إلى مكتبة الأشراف لما احتواه من معلومات جديدة، وهو حري أن يكون في مكتبة كل باحث ومعني بتاريخ بلادنا الحبيبة.
