ولد عام 1942. تخرج في فرنسا حاملاً الدكتوراه. عضو جمعية النقد الأدبي. فيصل دراج يستحق ما هو أفضل من الكلمات، هو ناقد كبير و هو في ملمح من عالمه المتعدد أحد المغتربين الكبار في هذا العالم، هو اغتراب له ملابسات و أسباب استثنائية و ستظل كذلك في تاريخ الإنسانية كلها. هو ككل مواطن فلسطيني يكابد من العناء ما يفوق التصور، يستيقظ مبكرا كل يوم و يعمل كثيرا و يحلم بأوطان أخرى مغايرة خارج هذا العالم، إذ هو أحد الممتلكين النادرين لجمع الاستثنائيات التي يزاوجها، فلديه رؤية الفيلسوف والناقد المتأني، موهبته لم تمنح سوى لقلة. دراج هو صاحب مشروع كبير و غني و متتناغم لم يقنع في نقده بمتابعة الأعمال أو يكرس لهالات مجد زائفة لظواهر عابرة لدية نظرة استكشافية، قادر من خلالها أن يميز ما ينتمي للإبداع الإنساني الحقيقي و ما ينهل من المنابع السطحية. إن الأمل و الفجيعة قادا فيصل ليستكشف و يبلور موقفه المدافع عن الوطن في منأى عن أشكال الاستبداد، بعيدا عن الزيف متعدد الأقنعة، في كتاباته استنهض بالمعرفة العميقة ليصل بالثقافة الفلسطينية للعالم الإنساني كله بعيدا عن النظريات المستمدة من سياقات أخرى. مشروعه النقدي بمثابة ثمرة نبتت في مناخ مناوئ في ظل عواصف، لذا كانت ثمرة عطية، فهو تمثيل خاص للمثقف الكبير و الحر. اهتم فيصل بعلاقة الثقافة و السياسة التي لم تبعد عن علاقة كل هذا بفلسطين، وانتهى إلى أن سؤال الثقافة لا ينخلع عن سؤال الدولة.

…لم تولد الماركسية تاريخياً كرد فعل ضد الدين، وإنما ولدتها تربة اجتماعية معطاة اقتصادياً، تربة مجتمع الاستغلال في أكثر صورها بشاعة: المجتمع الرأسمالي، أي إنها جاءت من المجتمع والتاريخ لتقود من جديد وتفعل في هذا المجتمع والتاريخ كي تصنع تاريخاً جديداً ومجتمعاً جديداً، لم تأت من السماء، لذلك فهي لا تلتفت إليها إلا بقدر ما تلجم الإنسان عن الثورة.
ليست معركة الماركسية دينية، معركة بين المؤمنين والملحدين، لكنها معركة طبقية بين من يملك ومن لا يملك، معركة بين البروليتاريا والرأسمالية، لا بين الأنا والإله أو الفيلسوف ورجل الدين.
