"أنا هنا في الثلاثين من عمري حبيباً لفتاةٍ ما. أستحي أن يتوَّردَ أثري دون جهاتها. أستحي أن أقول اسمها بلا رغبةٍ. وأستحي من شهوتي حين تقتسم الكلام المجازيَّ. لطالما كنتُ سأقولُ وكانت. سأقول شرفةُ المظلوم وكانت، نزهة الهارب ومشيئة الغريب وكانت. وكنتُ سأقولُ هبيني من الأثرِ سنابك الحلمِ، وجراحَ الغربةِ، وطلاسمَ الشرفةِ المضيئةِ، فكانت، هبيني حمرة الوردة، وحمرة الشوقِ، وحمرة الأضدادِ، فكانت. وحين تحولت لكل الكلامٍ تساءلتُ: من أنتِ؟! بغاية اللطف تساءلتُ حتى أنَّ شفتيَّ لم ترجعا من حرف الواو المتحرك، من أنتِ؟!..." لعل هذا المقتبس من كتاب يمارس مؤلفه نوعاً من التجريب للنص السردي القصير؛ وعبر فضاءٍ تداولي للغة، لا بدّ وأن تحضر معه أسئلة الكتابة بقوة بما تعنيه من أحلام وهواجس وحالة نفسية، فهل أراد "علي سبّاع" أن يقول إن هذا الثمن هو الممر الإلزامي للكتابة؟ وهل ما يتمخض عن التجربة يشكل بالضرورة نصّاً إبداعياً؟
هذه الأسئلة وسواها من هواجس الكتابة ومن يمارسها يطرحها المؤلف في كتابه "نزهة الهارب ومشيئة الغريب" عبر صورة واقعية للكاتب المتطلع إلى تحقيق ذاته. عن طريق عيش التجربة واكتناز الخبرات الضرورية للكتابة، ولعل هذا ما جعله يقول: "الكتابة محض تجربةٍ".
في الكتاب نصوص سردية مدلولها ليس واضحاً للقارئ العادي، لذلك فهي تستلزم جهداً في القراءة، وجهداً في التفسير سوف يدفع بالمتلقي إلى دهشة شعورية تتطلب بنية ذهنية عميقة كلما مرَ على نص من نصوص المجموعة التي تنوعت ما بين ثقافة المؤلف الخاصة، والتجربة الإنسانية، والتجربة الأدبية، والحدث الواقعي، والخيال المطلق. وبالتالي البحث في الجمال الذي هو توقّ إلى الاتصال بالعالم المثالي..
