لما كان الطلاب في البلدان العربية تواقين إلى تعلم اللغة الإنكليزية على نطاق واسع، لمسنا الحاجة إلى كتب للترجمة تكون معوناً لهم في مرحلتيهما المتوسطة والثانوية، لذلك بادرنا نحن الذين علمنا اللغة الإنكليزية ومارسنا فن الترجمة وحصنا على خبرة واسعة بهذا الفن إلى إصدار ثلاثة أجزاء من سلسلة الترجمة الحديثة: المدخل وهو للصفوف الابتدائية-والجزء الأول للصفوف المتوسطة-والجزء الثاني للصفوف الثانوية.
وقد جعلنا مواد الصرفية. الثاني: الجمل الاصطلاحية والمصطلحات اللغوية. والثالث: مختارات للترجمة باللغتين، تتدرج من السهولة إلى الصعوبة وانهينا كل كتاب بملحق قد يجد الطالب فيه بعض المتعة والفائدة,. وفي الكتاب مساعدات للترجمة لفائدة الطالب، وعدد وافر من التمارين المتنوعة فيوسع المعلم أن يختار منها ما يوافق مستوى طلابه.
