ولأن وسائل الإعلام بما فيها الإتصال الجماهيري أصبحت واقعاً، وضرورة ملحة في الحياة اليومية للأفراد؛ وفي سياسات الدول، وخططها التنموية المستقبلية يضع مؤلف هذا الكتاب الدكتور "صالح خليل أبو أصبع" خلاصة خبرته الواسعة والفنية في هذا المجال في كتاب يضم دراسات متنوعة في مفاهيم التنمية. جاء الكتاب تحت عنوان "الإتصال والتنمية المستدامة في الوطن العربي" ويضم خمسة أبواب تناول الباب الأول "مفهوم التنمية" بينما خصص الباب الثاني "في استراتيجيات التنمية وخططها" وكان الباب الثالث "في الإتصال التنموي ووظائفه" ، أما "التنمية المستدامة من منظور القيم الإسلامية" فكانت حديث الباب الرابع، ومنها: إعلان الجزائر حول التنوع الثقافي والمحافظة على هويات الشعوب". ويغطي الباب الخامس "قضايا وتجارب تنموية" في "اليمن، فلسطين، دولة الإمارات"، وأخيراً (ملاحق) الكتاب وهي عبارة عن وثائق دولية في التنمية الأول: إعلان الحق في التنمية 1986، الثاني: من إعلان الأمم المتحدة بشأن الألفية 2000، الثالث: الحق في التنمية 2006، الرابع: الأهداف الإنمائية للألفية الجديدة 2005.
