"منا قرمبع" هكذا عرفت، بهذا الاسم تلونت حياتي التي اختزنت مسافات من الزمن والبشر والإرتحالات ونداءات ارتخى لها الطريق، تحملت الضنك فبقيت حفظت عن أبي عن جد أبيه أن (سر البقاء كامن في تحمل الهزيمة واغتنام المرارات).
تناديني النساء اللواتي يصغرنني (ستي منا). البنات والأولاد ينادونني (خالة منا)، أولاد الجيران والذين أرضعتهم من البيوت التي جاودت فيها يقولون لي (ماما ميمونة). وأحياناً تزعجني نداءات الأطفال حين يهتفون بجذل (جدل ميمونة)، ولكني لا أكشف عن تبرمي، ولا يدركه سوى صديقاتي اللواتي عايشن تعبي وتقاسمنه معي سنين طويلة حفته أحزان نبيلة، وفي آخر العمر صرت أعرف بـ (منا الكبيرة) بعد أن حملت إحدى حفيداتي اسمي، وفاحت منه رائحة الأنهار لي أمهات كثيرات رضعت من أثدائهن في العوالي. لا يرضين إلا حين ينادينين (سكينة) ويعجبني صوتي حين أشيل الكلام مجساً بصوت يطرح حبقاً وتشهداً، ويتطاير غباراً كأنه نحيب".
