نشأته
ولد ونشأ في حي ساروجة الأثري بمدينة دمشق – سوريا والذي كان يسمى (استانبول الصغيرة)،الذي كان يقطنه مسؤلو الدولة التركية الحاكمة إذ ذاك- في حارة الورد، بمنزل عربي بالقرب من حمام الورد المشهور، ولا يزال إلى الآن ذلك المنزل قائماً، والده إسماعيل شيخو، وكان يشتغل والده بالتجارة، تُوفي والده في صغره، وأصبح أخوه محمد سليم مديراً للمدرسة الحربية أثناء الحكم العثماني.
دراسته
التحق العلاَّمة الكبير بالمدرسة الرشيدية في الثانية عشرة من عمره. ثم انتسب إلى الكلية الملكية العثمانية بدمشق "عنبر"، ونال عدة ثناءات في العهد التركي والفيصلي في سوريا، يوجد نسخ منها إلى الآن.

الحياة الطيّبة من الله تعالى، دنيا وآخرة، بمعناها المحض، لا تتمُّ بياناً وأحوالاً إلاً بواسطة رسوله الكريم صلى الله عليه وسلم خليفة الله في أرضه، بدائميّة وظيفته، التي بها يقوم بإدخال المؤمنين بالصلاة وبالفاتحة على حضرة الله، خالق الجمال والفضيلة والكمال، منذ غور الأزل السحيق إلى أعماق الأبد السرمدي مجداً وسموّاً.
فمن شاء العلم، فبها العلم والفتوح والكشوف والعلو العظيم، مكتسبات النفس المقبلة مع الإمام على الله تعالى، أي التي اتَّقت الله فانطبعت بها حقائق أسمائه تعالى الحسنى، ﴿ صِبْغَةَ اللَّهِ وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ اللَّهِ صِبْغَةً...﴾ سورة البقرة [138].
هذه هي الوسطية الحقة بين الله وخلقه، التي توسط بها علامتنا الجليل محمد أمين شيخو قدِّس سره بما بيَّنه من أسرار عظيمة انطوت تحت عبارات السبع المثاني مفتاح فهم كلام الله.
إن شئت إدراك إعجازها العلمي بعد إعجازها البياني، فاسلك طريق الإيمان بصدق وإخلاص، واطلب من الله بطريق الإيمان، يبعث الله لك فوراً سراجه المنير، وليس البيان كالعيان.
والحمد لله في بدءٍ وفي ختم.
