ما أقصر هذا المشهد، وما أطول هذا الليل المظلم الذي بدأ ربما منذ الولادة، منذ زمن طويل طويل.
فجأة، دوّت صاعقة قوية، أزاحت بأنوارها الخاطفة العتمة، وحلّ رعد متقطع كأنه لا ينتهي. ارتجفت أركان البيت الصغير. أرخى جسده وعضلات وجهه، وسّع دائرة عينيه، ليكتشف ما الذي يربض خلف النافذة، في قلب هذا العتم الصامت كالقتيل الصاخب. لم يميّز شيئاً، لم يسمع سوى نقرات قاسية وسريعة على زجاج نافذته. حاول تحريك جسده، فكان متيبساً كجذع جاف. أرخى كتفيه، حرك رأسه إلى الوراء، ثم إلى الأمام وإلى كلا الجانبين.
لنعشق الحياة كما هي، يملأها الصراخ والصخب. الصمت والسكينة، الحزن والفرح، الهدوء والغضب. لنقف ولنصرخ عالياً في قلب الدوامات الهادرة المتخمة بالتعب والألم. لنركض فوق مساحاتها الصغيرة، نحمل أقلاماً، نرسم بها حروفاً، كلمات، صوراً وأشكال سهول وجبال، بحوراً وسماء زرقاء، جاعلين منها أماكن للعب والمرح. مساحات العمر صغيرة، تمرّ فوق الأرض كالشهب، وتختفي في ظلام الليل، وفي قلب الليل، نهار جديد يحبو.
